It's so interesting to me. So touching. So inspiring.
It doesn't really interest or touch me
When it's all "figured out" (apparently)
Zipped up
Held together
Perfect on the outside.
For example, a person who’s super confident
And very convinced of themselves
Maybe really good looking
Meh 🤷♀️
But a person who’s rather shy
With a quiet voice
And maybe not the biggest beauty at first glance…
Seeing them tap into something real and
Draw from something bigger than themselves
AND bring that out into the surface
Through all the layers
Cracking through the shell
That’s sooo DELICIOUS! 🫦
I’m thinking of my friend’s wedding a few years ago
How she was standing at the beginning of the long isle all by herself
In the white dress, the high heels, and carrying the flowers 💐
Visibly afraid
I remember her decent down the aisle
She was shaking
All over her body
Never dressed like that before
Never wore that much eye liner
New to heels
Everyone’s looking
Don’t trip
All the eyes on you
Cameras too…
She looked straight ahead
Chin up
Stepping forward
Trembling but CLEAR what she was stepping into it
She made it her victory walk 🎇🎆🎇
It was GLORIOUS to witness
Each step spoke to her vulnerability
She did it DESPITE herself
It was the strength in her vulnerability that fascinated me
I thought it would have not really stayed in my memory for so many years
If she would have been super “confident” and the picture perfect bride
It stayed with me because there was an outerwordly beauty and strength that shone through
I could see HER 🖤
She didn’t cover up that she was nervous
That this was BIG for her
That this was totally out of her comfort zone
And she broke through in that moment
Connected to her deeper level womaness ❤️🔥
Moving from her true power
And unapologetically expressing it
Sharing it with everyone in the room
I feel honoured I was there to witness that
What was touched in me in that moment
I will always carry with me 🔥
